I am secretly amused by K$sha's We R Who We R. She's catchy, and so over-the-top that I can't help laughing. Then I discovered this parody, and nearly died:
I showed Nadine, and she told me about this Miley Cyrus parody by a group that takes music videos and writes new songs to fit with the singer's lips. They're called "Bad Lip Reading" and this is Black Umbrella.
Then we watched their song Everybody Poops, featuring the Black Eyed Peas.
And, the crowning glory of it all: Asian Baby by The Biebs & Rascall Flatts. This one's for you, Kolten. Happy Birthday.

I actually don't even know what the originals are, except the Ke$ha one! Sometimes not listening to the radio means i'm super disconnected.
ReplyDeleteJess! (I liked seeing you last night).
ReplyDeleteSo, Kolten was also confused by this...the last three videos are not straight up parodies - the song tunes are ENTIRELY different than the "original" song. What's the same is the visuals and the appearance that the new song fits with the original video, including lip reading... if that makes sense?
I'm pretty sure you're at least familiar with Party In the USA and Boom Boom Pow, although you wouldn't recognize them if you don't know the videos...
